A busy summer weekend

We enjoyed a warm (not hot) beautiful sunny weekend in Minnesota and did our best to keep Sula distracted from her teething pain. She is currently getting two more teeth on the top and I am suspecting that another two are about to emerge from the bottom of her mouth. It seems that all of her teeth have decided to come in at once, poor girl.

Today we went Corey's grandparents' cabin in Bone Lake, Wisconsin to celebrate uncle Bill's birthday.

Sula showing her grandma and aunt Holly how close she is to walking. A soft lawn is the perfect place to practice, offering a padded place to fall.

Sula loves to spend time with her grandpa Hines.

Sula and I did a solo trip to the Minnesota Zoo on Saturday. She really enjoys the large tropical fish aquarium in the tropics building.

Favorite pictures from Montana

This picture was taken with Corey's iPhone. Neat light captured from the fire.

Recently, I have started to research the purchase of a digital SLR camera to replace my Canon Powershot G10 point and shoot. I am getting closer to my decision but still need to consult with my favorite photogs, Kelly and Ian. I am liking the specs on a Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i. Despite my desire for a more sophisticated camera, I am pretty happy with the results from the Canon Powershot G10.

Sula in Sula

Of course we had to take this picture and take Sula to Sula, Montana.

A natural born trekker, she loved the wilderness of Idaho.

Such water babies, enjoying a soak in the natural hotspring pools.

Leslie is Sula's new BFF.

Ella learning how to give Sula kisses.

Sula was an amazing traveler. She loved the plane ride and took the change-up in schedule like a pro. Well mostly, there were a few 3 am wake-up calls. She learned how to climb stairs at the outdoors shop in Missoula and took a few steps with the assistance of a baby-walker outside in the lawn at the Goeltzs'.

Montana we love you!

We spent our summer holiday in western Montana, July 9 - 16th. The Goeltz family opened up their home to us and showed amazing hospitality. Their homestead of 6 acres is just south of Florence off of highway 93, approximately 20 miles south of Missoula. We spent our mornings sipping hot cups of coffee while watching the kiddos play and in the evenings we shared good conversation with friends (drinking glasses of Single Hop from the Bitterroot Brewery) while in the presence of gorgeous sunsets over the Bitterroot Mountains. It was a trip that renewed our spirit and reminded us why we love Montana. Here are some of the highlights:

The Goeltz Family and Corey on our hike to Jerry Johnson Hotsprings in the Clearwater National Forest, Idaho. Taking a soak with Sula in these primitive hotsprings was stellar.

Corey had his moment at the Bitterroot Brewery with Huey Lewis.

We took a Sunday drive down through the Big Hole Valley to Dillon, Montana. The weather was unstable all day with lots of dramatic sky and intense thunderstorms.

Growlers, yum! I want one now.

Corey sharing good conversation with Jonah. The Malo Family had the crew over to their lovely home for a great summer BBQ.
