Super silliness

This is the perfect picture of summer. Sula and her friend Mary are having a little girl moment, enjoying their hoody towels after playing outside. Seems like some major silliness going on here as we all get ready to grub on some chicken, sweet corn and potatoes!

Sula loves butterflies

We took a quick trip to Como Zoo last Saturday and checked out some butterflies.

Mama Nila gets a break and heads to D.C.

I had the pleasure of traveling to D.C. the week of July 18-23 for an EPA Registration/Re-evaluation PREP Course (work stuff). This was my first business trip away from Sula and I have to admit, I really enjoyed it! Here are some highlights:

Traveling on the Metro to and from Crystal City, VA

Walked around the perimeter of the White House. Way in the distance you can see the White House garden that Michelle Obama put in last summer.

Enjoyed the Renwick Gallery late in the afternoon.

Checked out the National Museum of Natural History and headed straight to the entomology exhibit. This is a 20 million year old moth preserved in amber!

The following are from a work related trip to EPA Headquarters, the Ariel Rios Building in downtown D.C.:

After a meeting with the Office of Enforcement and Compliance we got a VIP trip up to EPA's press room. I even got a peak at Administrator Lisa Jackson's Office. Here I am getting a moment behind the EPA podium. I know, super cheesy but I just couldn't resist.

More EPA green room.

Welcome baby Julia!

Our dear friends the Trudeaus' just had a baby girl. Julia Jean was born on July 2, 2010. We had the pleasure to meet baby Julia at Regions Hospital the day after she was born.

What a cutie! We think she looks just like her big sister Hannah.

Sula loves babies but at this moment she seemed more interested in watching Dora on the iPhone.
