Zoo Boo

Today we got out of the house to enjoy a bit of sunshine and took a walk through Fort Snelling State Park. It really feels like we are on the fast track toward winter here in Minnesota. Most of the leaves are off the trees and the fall color is not as vibrant as I remember in past years. A few good pictures of colorful leaves were still possible .

Later we got Sula all dressed up and went to Como Zoo's fall fundraiser Zoo Boo. She dressed as a pink kitty cat. Not my first choice of costumes, I try hard not to over do the pink. But, hey you can't beat the sale rack at Old Navy. The pictures explain the rest.

A day in the life of Sula

Playing with my pet snail in the morning.

Helping mom rake leaves.

More walking.

Learning to walk at the park.

Music time, I got the beats.

Two sticks, watch out.

Time to read a story, upside down is better.

Walking and talking

Sula took her first few independent steps about two weeks ago. Everyday she gets a little better at mastering her balance. Soon she will be running.

What did you say?

Help, does anyone speak Sula?

Snow!?

This morning we woke up to snow. It's October.

The fall foliage hasn't even peaked yet here in Minneapolis and it is snowing. AND... more snow is in the forecast tomorrow. Crazy!

This morning I made the most out of this situation. I went for a walk and brought my new camera. I am learning fast and having fun. Here are the results!

Twin Cities Marathon

I always love watching the Twin Cities Marathon. With a delicious latte and cinnamon roll in hand from Lake Nokomis Coffee House, we walked down to Lake Nokomis before the first runners arrived. I REALLY wish I knew how to use my camera better for these action shots of the first runners.
